The Character

Character's Name: Liam Arthur Bramble
Character's Gender: Male
Character's Appearance: Bramble is the kind of man who always looks to be in a hurried state. His attire, though impeccably clean, is constantly wrinkled or ruffled as a result of his manic rushing. His shoes are much the same, polished and shined, but the laces are tied in ridiculously messy knots. A man of twenty-five, he already appears years older, a hidden scar on his left shoulder that speaks of a dark past. Wisps of gray sprout out of his temples, practically lost amidst his shaggy dirty blonde hair. He is surprisingly well-toned, his muscles subtly cloaked beneath his flowing robes. His eyebrows, though trim, are powerful, and accentuate his even more powerful amber eyes. His aquiline nose and thin mouth pull together his features. He looks the average twenty-five year old Brit, sans minute wrinkles here and there and a tired air that often hangs about him. A pair of gold-rimmed bifocals sit at the end of his nose.

Character's History: Liam Arthur Bramble was born in Devonshire, England in 1951 to a wizard father and Muggle mother. His father left home when he was one, leaving his mother to care for him. An early introduction to Muggle history and arts by his mother caused him to drift from village games of Quidditch and collecting Famous Wizards and Witches cards to reading the works of Aristotle and Plato and collecting works of art. His first six years at Hogwarts were spent in books, until a Hogsmeade visit was threatened by a rogue goblin attack. It was then Bramble emerged as more than a bookworm. By soundly thrashing all three goblins with a Bludgeoning Curse, Liam opened up a new chapter in his life. He left Hogwarts in 1968 to become an Auror, a job involving the kind of adventures he had read about in his beloved books. Or so he thought. After extreme training and numerous tests, he nearly died his first time out, hesitating to kill a dangerous escaped Dark wizard. He immediately quit, deciding he was more suited for the peaceful life of a teacher and, Muggle arts and history being his preference, he took up the position of Muggle Studies professor.

Character's Personality: Bramble is a curious subject. Though brilliant, quiet, and pacific most of the time, he is known to gallantly defend the downtrodden, whether verbally or physically. He is a force to be reckoned with, however, you will most often find him poring over one of his many Muggle books, intent on learning all there is to know about the misunderstood non-wizards so that he can impart this knowledge to his students. After all the studying, however, Bramble isn't afraid to sit back and enjoy a mug of firewhiskey with a few of his pupils. The fact that his mannerisms are quite oxymoronic make him all the more appealing to women, though he has little experience in that department.
